Teams That Won Consecutive College Basketball National Championships

BETMGM

Seven different college basketball programs have won back-to-back national championships: Oklahoma State, Kentucky, San Francisco, Cincinnati, UCLA, Duke, and Florida.

  • Oklahoma State*: 1945-56
  • Kentucky: 1948-49
  • San Francisco: 1955-56
  • Cincinnati: 1961-62
  • UCLA: 1964-65, 1967-1973
  • Duke: 1991-92
  • Florida: 2006-07
UCLA is the only program to accomplish the feat multiple times. The Bruins – who own the most national championships ever – won consecutive titles in 1964 and 1965 and again from 1967-73.

Several teams have nearly won the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years. Most recently, Kentucky won in 1996, lost the title game in 1997, and won in 1998.

*Oklahoma State was named Oklahoma A&M until 1958.

Imagine the damage UNLV would have put on the French Florida team...

Larry Johnson vs Noah
Augmon vs Brewer
Greg Anthony vs Green

I like the Florida team but UNLV was ridiculous that year. Their problem was like Gonzaga, their conference is so weak so they aren't in a lot of tight games.
